Residual Chlorine Meter Working principle:
The instrument consists of signal measurement, calculation, display, network communication and panel instructions. It amplifies the sampled signal into a low-resistance voltage signal through the instrument amplifier and displays the measured value.
Au was used as cathode and Ag as anode. The filling is an electrolyte of 0.1M potassium chloride ( KCl ). A percolating membrane is a membrane capable of selectively permeating only hypochloric acid ( HClO ) molecules, while neither hypochlorite ions ( ClO– ) nor chlorine can penetrate. When the polarization voltage is applied between the anode and cathode, the HClO molecules are consumed at the cathode through the permeation membrane, forming a current which is proportional to the concentration of hypochloric acid. The instrument detects this current and converts it into hypochloric acid concentration through calculation. At the same time, the pH and temperature electrodes detect the pH value and temperature of the solution. The instrument calculates the residual chlorine content in the water based on the detected pH and temperature.
